We have partnered with the inspiring and adventurous Finding Alexx!
Alexx is a twenty-something Kiwi travel blogger -and is the perfect mix of an adventure addict and passionate about sharing all the great travel tips for Aotearoa! She is a born and raised Kiwi, and spent years working in the travel industry, both here in NZ and in London.
Pre-covid Alexx was a very busy woman.... and had a travel itinerary visiting a new country every week for an entire year (wow!), with the route based entirely off the cheapest flight she found that week on SkyScanner sharing it all on her blog and instagram channel.
Now Alexx is based in NZ, she is obsessed with discovering & sharing the ultimate things to do, places to stay, views to see and food to eat in our amazing country. She shares her adventures (and misadventures!),her travel hacks and budget tips, along with her incredible images capturing her experiences.
Alexx has developed a Bingo Bonanza South Island Bucket List Card alongside our team and has crafted 25 amazing experiences for anyone keen to get out, do their ‘OE at home’ over the summer period and explore some of the gems across the South Island. Here are some of our favs:
Swim with Dolphins
E-Ko Tours in Picton run incredible dolphin tours in the Marlborough Sounds, letting you swim with these majestic creatures in a safe and responsible way.
Aotearoa's glamping scene is on fire, with safari tents, tiny houses and geodesic domes popping up in every region. My favourite is Valley Views Glamping in Canterbury.
Hike to Roy's Peak
After a steep hike up Mt Roy you'll be treated to breathtaking views over Lake Wanaka and the mountains that surround it. Set aside 5-6 hours total for the trek.
Visit the Portal at Steampunk HQ in Oamaru
Mirror light rooms in Japan and Singapore have become Instafamous in recent years, but we have our very own one at the interactive Steampunk Museum in Oamaru!
Go Kayaking on Milford Sound
One of New Zealand's absolute best activities. Seeing Milford Sound from water level is pure magic! You might even spot a seal or some penguins.
